The Emerald Of A Thousand Lights was kept in a wall safe behind a painting which the thieves wouldn’t have found if the professor hadn’t tried to alert Danny to the fact that the safe was ajar by a jerk of his thumb.

However Professor Dahl was unconscious after being hit on the head making it impossible that Danny’s story could be true.
