Chester defends that his “lurking” outside was because Latte hadn’t unlocked the doors yet but if the doors were still locked, then the thieves could not have run out of the café exactly like he claimed later on.

Chester accidentally contradicted himself… revealing to us that he was lying!

Furthermore… in the case that the front doors were locked but they came out of an unlocked side door, Chester would not have been there for them to nearly knock him over and his story would still be contradictory.
